Melissa Rycroft, who became a celebrity by being dumped on a finale of “The Bachelor,” is the only finalist among the all-star “Dancing with the Stars” final three not to have won before.

But her dances Monday earned her a perfect score of 60 out of 60, and an edge to win her first mirror ball trophy Tuesday.

She and partner Tony Dovolani have battled injuries to become the couple with the highest average judges scores of the three remaining contestants, though former Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson is close by. Johnson had a rough final night of dancing, being sternly docked by judges for keeping in technical violations in a quickstep they were repeating from earlier in the season that was nonetheless a hit among fans.

With a perfectly-scored “supersized freestyle” dance that included the “Fab Five” from the most recent U.S. Olympic team, Johnson’s combined score Monday was 57.5 out of 60, last of the three contestants.
The third contestant, Kelly Monaco, who won season one, surpassed Johnson by getting her first 10s of the season in her two dances, earning her 59 out of 60, doing a salute to “Dirty Dancing” in her freestyle.

All of the previously eliminated dancers of the season will return for Tuesday’s finale to perform before the so-called “champ of champs” is named.
