Opening Day 2013It’s that great day of springtime hope. Not April Fool’s Day, but baseball’s Opening Day. Games on nationally are Boston at Yankees (ESPN, 1 p.m.), San Francisco at Dodgers (ESPN, 4 p.m.), Philadelphia at Atlanta (ESPN2, 7 p.m.) and St. Louis at Arizona (ESPN2, 10 p.m.).

A full night of baseball-themed movies would have been welcomed in the dead of winter. As it is, fans will be likely watching the first games of the baseball season instead of a lineup of films with “It Happens Every Spring” (TCM, 8 p.m.), “Angels in the Outfield” (TCM, 9:30 p.m.), “The Kid from Left Field” (TCM, 11:15 p.m.), “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” (TCM, 1 a.m.), “Fireman, Save My Child” (TCM, 2:45 a.m.) and “Kill the Umpire” (TCM, 4 a.m.).

“Castle” (ABC, 10 p.m.) uses a “Rear Window” homage to mark its 100th episode.

The new reality series “The Gossip Game” (VH1, 9 p.m.) follows the catty women who cover hip-hop, from the broadcasters to magazine writers to bloggers.

It joins a second new show, “Master of the Mix” (VH1, 10 p.m.), which is a reality talent competition for DJs. Why hasn’t anybody thought of this before? Amanda Seales hosts; judges include Mia Moretti, Ben Maddahi and Kid Capri.

“The Voice” (NBC, 8 p.m.) in its debut succeeded in one aspect last week, beating the previously unbeatable “American Idol” in the ratings. Blind auditions continue tonight over two hours.

The first one to go on “Dancing with the Stars” (ABC, 8 p.m.) this season went voluntarily — and it was the Olympic skater expected to do well. Dorothy Hamill was asked by doctors to leave the competition and wisely she listened. Everybdy else keeps dancing.

The eighth season starts for the granddaddy of the franchise, “The Real Housewives of Orange County” (Bravo, 8 p.m.).

“General Hospital” (ABC, 2 p.m.) marks its 50th anniversary today, a real milestone in daytime TV.

The standout on “The Daily Show,” “30 Rock” and “Flight of the Conchords” finally gets her own comedy special, “Kristen Schaal: Live at the Fillmore” (Comedy Central, midnight).

The  prime time “All In with Chris Hayes” (MSNBC, 8 p.m.) starts today, filling in the slot formerly held by Ed Schultz. Meanwhile, CNN is trying something out as well, with a new show called “The Point” (CNN, 10 p.m.) replacing the repeat of  “Anderson Cooper 360” (CNN, 8 p.m.).

How do you explain gender equality to kids? One try comes on the Nick News special,  “Are We There Yet? Women’s History, Past, Present and Future” (Nickelodeon, 8 p.m.) with Linda Ellerbee.

The search is on for the kidnapped Claire on “The Following” (Fox, 9 p.m.). It’s one of just two new scripted show on broadcast TV; the other is “Bones” (Fox, 8 p.m.).

The weird girl Olivia threatens to show the police the book Norman found in the floorboards on “Bates Motel” (A&E, 10 p.m.). But what would they know about manga?

“Conan” (TBS, 11 p.m.) begins a week’s worth of shows from Atlanta.

“Kickin’ It” (Disney XD, 8:30 p.m.) returns for a new season.

Hockey action includes Colorado at Detroit (NBC Sports, 7:30 p.m.).

In the Women’s NCAA Tournament, it’s Kentucky vs. Connecticut (ESPN, 7:30 p.m.) and Georgia vs. California (ESPN, 9:30 p.m.).
