“The Colbert Report” (Comedy Central, 11:30 p.m.) goes an hour tonight because of its guest, a man we’re guessing who will be persuaded to play hits from 50 years ago, Paul McCartney.

Perhaps you want to know how pitchers serve up the “Knuckelball!” (Showtime, 7:35 p.m.). A new documentary featuring Tim Wakefield and R.A. Dickey gives up some secrets.

Lookout! A jazzy new prime time news magazine, “The Lookout” (ABC, 10 p.m.) is actually run by the people who do “Nightline” and have been exiled to 12:35 a.m. It premiered last week.

“Dig Wars” (Travel Channel, 10 and 10:30 p.m.) is the odd name for yet another competition among treasure hunters in historic spots.

The adoption process gets a look in a second season of “I’m Having Their Baby” (Oxygen, 10 p.m.). Also, a new session of “Couples Therapy” (VH1, 10 p.m.) with Dr. Jenn Berman, begins with a session with the creator of “Girls Gone Wild” as well as Flavor Flav and one of the Teen Moms. She ought to be seeing the cast of “Bad Girls All Star Battle” (Oxygen, 9 p.m.) as well.

The 16 remaining cooks prepare steak for firefighters on “MasterChef” (Fox, 8 p.m.). Contestants on “The American Baking Competition” (CBS, 8 p.m.) ought to make desert.

Game one in the Stanley Cup Finals are finally here, in mid June, just before the ice melts. It’s Boston at Chicago (NBC, 8 p.m.).

In baseball, Cleveland at Texas (ESPN, 8 p.m.) gets a national audience.

And here comes the WNBA season with Connecticut at Indiana (ESPN2, 8 p.m.).
