FleshAndBoneFor all of its visual potential, ballet has only rarely been portrayed well in film or TV. The latest attempt, “Flesh and Bone” (Starz, 8 p.m.) stars Sarah Hay, who was previously in “Black Swan” as a Pittsburgh dancer with a dark past trying to make it in a demanding New York company run by a typically megalomaniac director, played by Ben Daniels.

A lot of the first episode is predictable in a way “Mozart in the Jungle” was not; at least until she gets to the strip club.

The eight-episode series is created by Moira Walley-Beckett, a writer and executive producer on “Breaking Bad.” In addition to its premiere tonight, all eight episodes will be available on demand for those who prefer to do the only kind of binging ballet dancers are allowed to do.

A new season starts for “Real Housewives of Atlanta” (Bravo, 8 p.m.) with Kim Fields joining the cast.

It joins a second season of “Untying the Knot” (Bravo, 9 p.m.) with divorce attorney Vikki Ziegler.

Carrie Coon’s Nora is the focus of tonight’s episode of “The Leftovers” (HBO, 9 p.m.), which can’t be a bad thing.

Alison is still mad at Noah about what she read of his book on “The Affair” (Showtime, 10 p.m.).

Carrie figures she better call Saul on “Homeland” (Showtime, 9 p.m.).

Peter’s campaign is hurt by a leak on “The Good Wife” (CBS, 9:30 p.m.).
