RadioCPRFirst show of the new year was a weird one – a half hour prelude followed 90 minutes later by the conclusion. It was all because Janel and Anthony’s show returned at 10 p.m., which made it all worthwhile.

But it all worked out. Lots of songs about the new year, of course, while trying to avoid the ones about New Year’s Eve. There were a couple about taking down the tree (actually the same one, performed by two different people). A bit from Charles Bradley, who played town on New Year’s Eve, and for some reason “MacArthur Park.” Ended with Raymond Scott, who had a New Year’s Eve title as well.
