Started with a long birthday salute to Smokey Robinson, paused to remember Dan Hicks and put on some Junior Brown, Rhett Miller and James Hunter in conjunction with shows around here this week.
Then it was a garage rock blitz followed by a potpourri of rock old and newer. Gil Scott-Heron’s “Winter in America” led to a spate of reggae, topped by a couple more R&B songs and then a song I never got to play last week (because of an absence) about Valentine’s Day, from David Bowie.
