It happens tonight as part of the premiere of “The Shop” (HBO, 11 p.m.), a new show from LeBron James that hopes to extend the kind of conversations that happen in neighborhood barber shops into a talk series.

Also stopping in for a cut are Snoop Dogg, New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara, NBA star Draymond Green and WNBA MVP Candace Parker. The occasional show will be shot in various barbershops around the country.

Ava DuVernay created “August 28: A Day in the Life of a People” (OWN, 7 p.m.) as a short film for the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African-American History and Culture, where it’s been showing since the museum opened in 2016.

It makes its TV debut on the network of another museum benefactor, Oprah Winfrey, on the very day it concerns – a significant one in African-American history on which Emmett Till was lynched in 1955, Martin Luther King gave his “I Have a Dream” speech at the 1963 March on Washington, Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans and Barack Obama accepted the Democratic nomination for president. It stars Don Cheadle, Regina King, Angela Bassett, Lupita Nyong’o, David Oyelowo and Michael Ealy.

“Younger” (TV Land, 10 p.m.) reaches its season finale with Liza evaluating her options.

Also reaching the end of its seasons are “Hit the Floor” (BET, 10 p.m.) and “Chrisley Knows Best” (USA, 10:30 p.m.).

The saga “Greenleaf” (OWN, 10 p.m.) returns for its third season.

“Ink Master” (Paramount, 10 p.m.) is back for its 11th.
