Wednesday TV: Dodgeball and Democrats

With reality competition shows built around tag, mini-golf and cannonball, it’s about time that there’s one for dodgeball. But not just dodgeball, this is “Dodgeball Thunderdome” (Discovery, where the prize is $25,000 and everything is bigger. David Dobrik hosts the show, which isn’t even on ESPN 8 “The Ocho.” Erin Lim and Andrew Hawkins co-host. 

Vice Presidential candidate Kamala Harris and former President Barack Obama keynote the third night of the Democratic National Convention  (PBS, 8 p.m.; CNN, MSNBC, CSPAN, 9 p.m.; ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox News, 10 p.m.). Also featured will be Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, Elizabeth Warren, Gabrielle Giffords and the governors Tony Evers and Michelle Lujan Grisham. Billie Ellish and Jennifer Hudson will perform. 

Comic actor Jim Belushi’s dive into the Oregon cannibis industry is covered on the new series “Growing Belushi” (Discovery, 10 p.m.). 

A new documentary series “High Score” (Netflix, streaming) tracks the early days of video games like “Space Invaders,” Asteroids” and “Pac Man.” 

Are we interested in the life of Rascal Flatts bassist Jay DeMarcus and his beauty queen wife? If so, there’s “DeMarcus Family Rules” (Netflix, streaming). 

The international annual movement of creatures is celebrated in “Epic Animal Migrations: Mexico” (Smithsonian, 8 p.m.).
