Dating isn’t easy in the lockdown, and it’s not easy for dating shows either. Instead of a luxurious resort on an island, the second season of the U.S. version of “Love Island” (CBS, 8 p.m.) doesn’t take place on an island, but in a bubble installed at Las Vegas’ Cromwell hotel where contestants have been quarantined two weeks before tonight’s premiere. Arielle Vandenberg returns as host; Matthew Hoffman the snarky narrator.

In the first season finale of the striking “I May Destroy You” (HBO, 9 p.m.), Arabella’s memory of her attack comes back to her.

If there’s a reality show feel to the Republican National Convention (PBS, 8 p.m.; CNN, MSNBC, CSPAN, 9 p.m.; ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox News, 10 p.m.), it’s not just that Donald Trump will speak on every one of its night, but producers from his old show “The Apprentice” are in charge here in an event that is said to be relying more on live speeches than did the Democrats last week.

Besides Trump, the first night speakers include Donald Trump Jr., and his girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle, Nikki Haley, Sen. Tim Scott, Reps. Steve Scalese, Matt Gaetz and Jim Jordan, and — this is not a joke — the gun-toting couple who pointed at protesters in St. Louis, Mark and Patricia McCloskey,

As with last week, “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” (CBS, 11:35 p.m.) will be live to respond to it.

Another possible reaction could be found in the title of “Penn & Teller: Fool Us” (CW, 9 p.m.).

In the new “Family Business” (Acorn TV, streaming) Catherine Marchal and Ophélia Kolb play a mother and daughter solve family legal issues in Lyon, France.
