Roger Catlin is a freelance writer living in Washington, D.C., whose work appears regularly in The Washington Post.

He is also a contributing writer at SmithsonianMagazine.com and has had work published at Salon.com. He writes rock reviews for the Vinyl District website.

He worked many years at The Hartford Courant in Connecticut,  as reporter, TV critic, rock music critic and visual arts reporter. He is still a member in good standing of the Television Critics Association, where he is was a former board member.

After hosting Friday Morning Rock for more than a decade on WRTC radio in Hartford, since 2013, he has been hosting Friday Night Rock weekly on Radio CPR, 101.7 FM in Washington, whose shows also run online.

Born in Detroit, he’s a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
