queen2Women are the stars of two new dramas starting tonight. Alice Braga stars as a woman seeking refuge in America after her drug-dealing boyfriend is killed in Mexico on the new “Queen of the South” (USA, 10 p.m.), an adaptation of a novel that was also the basis of a telenovela (the one that starred the El Chapo lure Kate del Castillo) only to become the biggest drug kingpin in  the Western Hemisphere. It has one of the strongest Latino casts on TV with Veronica Falcon, Justina Machado, Peter Gaidot and Kemky Madera. The bad news is they mostly play drug dealers.

And on the new “Thirteen” (BBC America, 10 p.m.), Jodie Comer stars as a woman who escapes 13 years of captivity since she was kidnapped as a teen and tries to adjust to her old life. With Natasha Little, Stuart Graham and and Richard Rankin.

“BattleBots” (ABC, 8 p.m.) returns for a new season of competition with 32 teams lined up for matches. Soon, there will be no need for humans on summer TV at all. But for now, Adam Savage is host.

The second night of “Big Brother” (CBS, 9 p.m.) will see the first elimination from the original 16. It follows the twists of four additional houseguests from past seasons joining the cast, and forcing everyone to play in teams of four. Later, it’s the first night of “Big Brother After Dark” (Pop, 1 a.m.) on the former TV Guide Channel.

“Bones” (Fox, 8 p.m.) investigates a case that cuts close to home.

A runner with a prosthetic leg competes on “Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge” (NBC, 9 p.m.).

A murder in a black neighborhood on the day of Martin Luther King’s assassination may cause a riot on “Aquarius” (NBC, 10 p.m.).

It’s Chris D’Elia vs. Brent Morin on “Lip Sync Battle” (Spike TV, 10 p.m.).

“Ghostbusters” stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones are on a new “Graham Norton Show” (BBC America, 11:15 p.m.), as well as Charlie Sheen.

Margaret Cho joins Jerry Seinfeld on a new “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” (Crackle, streaming).

J.T. is kidnapped in a case of mistaken identity on “Beauty and the Beast” (The CW, 9 p.m.).

Stage musicals that were turned to movies are on Turner Classic Movies tonight with “West Side Story” (8 p.m.), “The Music Man” (10:45 p.m.), “Bye Bye Birdie” (1:30 a.m.), “Bells Are Ringing” (3:30 a.m.) and “Finian’s Rainbow” (5:45 a.m.).

After a couple of days without professional men’s basketball, here’s the NBA Draft (ESPN, 7 p.m.).

Baseball includes San Francisco at Pittsburgh (MLB, 12:30 p.m.), Chicago White Sox at Boston (MLB, 3:30 p.m.) and Mets at Atlanta (MLB, 7 p.m.).

In the College World Series it’s Texas Tech vs. Coastal Carolina (ESPN2, 8 p.m.).

U.S. Olympic trials in men’s gymnastics (NBC Sports, 8:30 p.m.) begins its first day.
