Roger Catlin is a freelance writer living in Washington, D.C.

He is a contributing writer at SmithsonianMagazine.com and columnist at MediaVillage and has had work published at The Washington Post, Entertainment Weekly, TV Guide, The Connecticut Post, TV Worth Watching, Songfacts and Salon. He writes rock reviews for the Vinyl District website and theatre reviews for Broadway World.

He worked many years at The Hartford Courant in Connecticut,  as reporter, TV critic, rock music critic and visual arts reporter. He is a member and past board member of the Television Critics Association, and a member of  the Critics Choice Association and the American Theatre Critics Association.

He is also host of the weekly internet radio show Capital Radio on CygnusRadio.com Mondays at 1 p.m. and past host on WRTC radio in Hartford, and Radio CPR, 101.7 FM in Washington.

Born in Detroit, he’s a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
