Friday TV: Naomi Watts in New ‘Gypsy’

Naomi-Watts-Gypsy-NetflixNaomi Watts stars as a Manhattan therapist who falls into a complex relationship in Lisa Rubin’s new 10-episode series “Gypsy” (Netflix, streaming) which is based on part on the old Fleetwood Mac song of the same name (which Stevie Nicks gives a new version just for the show). Billy crude plays her husband. The cast also includes Sophie Cookson, Karl Glusman and Maren Heary.

Andrea Bocelli performs in Palazzo Vecchio in Floriana, Italy, joined by conductor Zubin Mehta on “Great Performances” (PBS, 10 p.m., check local listings). Chad Smith hosts.

The third season begins for “Killjoys” (Syfy, 8 p.m.)in which Dutch and D’avin are on the hunt for a weapon to draw out the Hullen.

“Masters of Illusion” (The CW, 8 and 8:30 p.m.) returns for its fourth season with two episodes.

“The Great British Baking Show” (PBS, 9 p.m.) seeks perfection.

Dan Savage, Michael Steele, Katty Kay, dan Abrams and Richard A. Clarke are on a new “Real Time with Bill Maher” (HBO, 10 p.m.).

“Josh Gates’ Destination Truth” (Travel, 9 p.m.) goes to Kenya and Madagascar. then at 10, he goes to Indonesia and Australia.

The Friday night focus on European Vacations on Turner Classic Movies concludes with “If It’s Tuesday, This Must Be Belgium” (8 p.m.), “A Little Romance” (10 p.m.), “Travels with My Aunt” (midnight), “Two for the Road” (2 a.m.) and “The Picasso Summer” (4:45 a.m.).

The crew on “Dark Matter” (Syfy, 9 p.m.) must rescue kidnapped royalty to retrieve a file that would stop a war.

“Wynonna Earp” (Syfy, 10 p.m.) fights for her sister’s soul.

“What Would You Do?” (ABC, 9 p.m.) returns for some new inquiry.

A pastor considers murder on “The Devil’s Lair” (Investigation Discovery, 9 p.m.). Another fallen pastor is on “A Fall from Grace” (Investigation Discovery, 10 p.m.).

Asteroids get the focus on the Science Channel with “When Asteroids Attack” (Science, 8 p.m.) and “Asteroids: The Dark Secrets” (Science, 9 p.m.) and “How to Survive an Asteroid Strike” (Science, 10 p.m.).

Baseball includes Yankees at Houston (MLB, 8 p.m.) and Colorado at Arizona (MLB, 11 p.m.).

In the WNBA it’s Los Angeles at Atlanta (NBA, 7:30 p.m.).

Second round play comes in the U.S. Senior Open Championship (Fox Sports 1, 2 p.m.).

It’s Germany vs. Spain (ESPNU, 2:45 p.m.) in soccer’s Euro under-21 final.

In the Canadian Football League, it’s British Columbia at Toronto (ESPN2, 7 p.m.).

And in auto racing, the Firecracker 250 (NBC Sports, 7:30 p.m.) is run.
