Just as you’re losing any interest you might have had in the new fall broadcast season, here comes The World Series (Fox, 8 p.m.) with the Dodgers playing the Red Sox in Game 1 at the nation’s oldest field, Fenway Park. IT’s also where they played the Dodgers more than a century ago.

“The Guest Book” (TBS, 10 and 10:30 p.m.), the amusing anthology series from Greg Garcia (of “My Name is Earl” and “Raising Hope” fame) returns with a new locale and only a couple of holdover co-stars — Eddie Steeples and Carly Jibson. Now renting out a beachside room, there are a bunch of new stories with nifty twists, some of them ongoing, but most resolved in each half hour episode. The first tonight involves Kether Donohue and Nat Faxon indulging in some virtual reality activity. In the second, Martha Plimpton and Will Arnett run an operation meant to nudge people to rehab.

As for the winning pick in “The Great American Read” (PBS, 8 p.m., check local listings), it will be announced tonight.

“The Connors” (ABC, 8 p.m.) scored high ratings in the premiere of the “Roseanne” comedy without Roseanne, if only out of curiosity. It will be interesting to see how it does tonight.

Kate and Toby await the big news on “This is Us” (NBC, 9 p.m.).

Black men and women in their 30s and 40s who are ready to settle down are the participants in the new dating show “Ready to Love” (OWN, 10 p.m.). Thomas Miles hosts.

Another dating experiment comes in “Married at First Sight: Honeymoon Island” (Lifetime, 10 p.m.), involving people who didn’t quite click from past seasons. Sounds like it might turn into “Temptation Island.” It follows the reunion finale of the latest season of “Married at First Sight” (Lifetime, 9 p.m.).

Here’s an unexpected standup special from someone who has already had a couple of movies premiere on the streaming service. “Adam Sandler: 100% Fresh” (Netflix, streaming) is his first comedy special in 20 years.

A local Airbnb is causing issues on “Blackish” (ABC, 9 p.m.).

“Real Sports with Bryan Gumbel” (HBO, 10 p.m.) interviews NFL player turned magician Jon Dorenbos.
