“The Circus: Inside the Craziest Political Campaign on Earth” (Showtime, 8 p.m.) returns in time to test the waters in Iowa.

Also back is “Our Cartoon President” (Showtime, 8:30 p.m.), undergoing his own impeachment.

The two hour special “American Ninja Warrior: USA vs. The World” (NBC, 9 p.m.) has American competitors going after those from Europe and Australia.

“Shameless” (Showtime, 9 p.m.) reaches its 10th season finale; its next season will be its last.

It’s election night on the first season finale of “The L Word: Generation Q” (Showtime, 10 p.m.).

“Avenue 5” (HBO, 10 p.m.) tries to arrange a NASA rescue for the off-course space cruiser.

Larry tries to keep his assistant from suing while furthering his revenge on Mocha Joe on “Curb Your Enthusiasm” (HBO, 10:30 p.m.).

The Kane sisters mark their birthdays on “Batwoman” (CW, 8 p.m.).

“Doctor Who” (BBC America, 8 p.m.) has an episode titled “Fugitive of the Judoon.”

Holly looks into a similar case to the murder at hand on a new episode of “The Outsider” (HBO, 9 p.m.).

“Supergirl” (CW, 9 p.m.)tries to stop a Toyman copycat.

The modernist cartoon “Disney Mickey Mouse” (Disney, 9:45 p.m.) is way better than the CGI version.

There is party fallout on “Dare Me” (USA, 10 p.m.).

“Sister Wives” (TLC, 10 p.m.) have a bad Christmas.

Deanna Durbin stars on Turner Classic Movies tonight in “Three Smart Girls” (8 p.m.), “Every Sunday” (9:45 p.m.) and “It’s a Date” (10 p.m.). The silent “The Outlaw and HIs Wife” (midnight) is followed by the Italian “The Night Porter” (2 a.m.) and the Russian “Come and See” (4 p.m.).

Football has its Pro Bowl (ESPN, ABC, 3 p.m.), while college football has the Hula Bowl (CBS Sports, 10:30 p.m.).

Basketball includes Houston at Denver (NBA, 3:30 p.m.), Boston at New Orleans (ESPN, 6 p.m.) and Indiana at Portland (NBA, 9 p.m.).

Hockey’s AHL has its all-star skills competition (NHL, 8 p.m.).
