Wednesday TV: Another from Tyler Perry

The least funny things are happening in American assistant living homes but the man of a million TV shows (and recent new billionaire) thinks he can eke comedy out of the situation with his latest show, “Tyler Perry’s Assisted Living” (BET, 9 and 9:30 p.m.). Nam Lynn plays a man who moves his family from Chicago to Georgia to collect an inheritance from his grandmother only to find his grandaddy (J. Anthony Brown) has used the money to buy an assisted living facility. It also stars Courtney Nichole and Tayler Buck, It accompanies a ninth season start of Perry’s sitcom “House of Payne” (BET, 8 and 8:30 p.m.), on which Malik is reluctant to share news with his family about Lisa’s pregnancy. 

The rise of the rich in Asia is tracked in the new series “Bad Boy Billionaires: India” (Netflix, streaming). 

“Chef’s Table: BBQ” (Netflix, streaming) is a variation of the culinary series concentrating on pit masters from Texas, South Carolina, Mxico and Australia. 

For those who are fascinated by the full of cults like NXVIM on the HBO series “The Vow,” there is also “Cult of Personality: Moonies” (Reelz, 8 p.m.) and “The Cult of Personality: The Children of God” (Reelz, 9 p.m.). 

Wolves, snow leopards, antelopes, yaks and pikas are featured on the special “Into the Wild Tibet” (Smithsonian, 8 p.m.).

“Tough as Nails” (CBS, 9 p.m.) has its first season finale, crowning a $200,000 winner after two hours of competition.
