Kate Gosselin may be going it alone as mother of eight on the continuing reality series. But she’s found a new friend among the TLC family.
Gosslein and her brood will be guests in the 49th state of its former governor, herself turned reality star, appearing on an episode of “Sarah Palin’s Alaska,” network officials announced last week.
The series itself from the onetime vice presidential candidate and current Fox News consultant is matter of curiosity.
TLC President Eileen O’Neill calls the eight episode-series directed by Mark Burnett of “Survivor” and “The Apprentice” fame, the “biggest project that TLC has ever undertaken.”
So far things have been progressing on the show, set to debut on TLC Nov. 14 at 9 p.m.
“We’ve been shooting with Gov. Palin and various members of her family and an array of Alaskans all across the state,” O’Neill says. “I’ve been on location in Alaska, and it has become clear that it takes a special individual to thrive in Alaska. It has also become clear that I am not as rugged as the Palins. In fact, they are an incredibly outdoorsy family.”
Early footage of the series is “Looking great” she says. “Mark Burnett Productions has captured the Palin family, showing off their beloved state. From salmon fishing in Bristol Bay to hiking along one of our country’s most majestic glaciers. And along with Alaska’s great wilderness, the Palins encounter Alaska’s fascinating residents, both human and animal. There’s already been sightings of brown bears and Kodiaks, and we are just waiting for those mamma grizzlies to show up. ”
As for the Gosselin episode, O’Neill says, “yes, recently, the Palins graciously shared their Alaska with the Gosselin family, and that camping trip will be part of an upcoming episode.”
