He didn’t win the governorship of New York, but Jimmy McMillan of the Rent’s 2 High Party did get his single of the same name out on the same day.
McMillan, who was a soul singer in the 1970s under the name Jimmy Mack, will release his debut “The Rent is Too DAMN High (Volume 1)” on Dec. 7 with such titles as “R.E.N.T.,” “Vote for Me” and the holiday variation, “Rent Too High for Christmas.”
