To cap a season in which there was one weekly show instead of two, they crowned two winners instead of one on the “So You Think You Can Dance” finale Tuesday.
A pair of ballet-trained dancers who proved they could do it all — Eliana Girard, 21 of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Chehon Wespi-Tshopp, 23 of Zurich, Switzerland, and who has an Australian accent, were named “America’s Favorite Dancers.”
In winning they beat the other two final four finalists, jazz dancer Tiffany Maher, 19, of Plantation, Fla., and Cyrus “Glitch” Spencer, 22, of Atlanta, the popping and animating dancer with ear spacers who mastered other styles as he went along.
The winners get $250,000, a feature in Dance Spirit magazine and that title, “America’s Favorite Dancer.”
The season;s Top 20 returned to perform in the two hour finale and Carly Rae Jepsen came by to lip synch her latest single, “This Kiss.”
