“Coldplay Live 2012” (Epix, 8 p.m.) features the band on tour for its Mylo Xyloto tour, playing its hits and such. The film is directed by Paul Dugdale, who did concert films for Adele and The Prodigy. A bunch of Yuletide TV movies debut, sounding more like mediocre romance movies that got green-lit because of the holiday angle.
Lacey Chabert of “Party of Five” stars in “Matchmaker Santa” (Hallmark, 8 p.m.), as a baker who finds herself attracted to her boyfriend’s best buddy in a film that also features Florence Henderson and John Ratzenberger.
In “Holiday High School Romance” (Lifetime, 8 p.m.) Rachel Boston plays a woman who is sure an old high school flame is the love of her life, only to be distracted by an old friend. As in the other movie, the biggest names play the parents who are in the background: Merilu Henner and harry Hamlin.
At least “Love at the Thanksgiving Parade” (Hallmark, 10 pm.), which debuted a couple of weeks ago, at least has a little something to do with this week’s holiday. But it’s pretty terrible.
The new series “Wedding Band” (TBS, 10 p.m.) actually isn’t too bad. Tonight, star Brian Austin Green gets his wife to guest star.
“Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s” (OWN, 9 p.m.) reaches a season finale. But a new season starts for the “BBQ Pitmasters” (Destination America, 9 p.m.).
New to premium cable, Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds star in “Safe House” (HBO, 8 p.m.). One of the biggest movie losers in history, “John Carter” (Starz, 9 p.m.), about a Civil War soldier suddenly on Mars, may still be interesting.
Take your pick: “Three Muskateers” (Showtime, 8 p.m.) or “Three Kings” (G4, 10 p.m.). (No Three Stooges?).
Football dominates prime time again with Stanford at Oregon (ABC, 8 p.m.) plays opposite Oklahoma at West Virginia (Fox, 7 p.m.), while on cable, it’s Syracuse at Missouri (ESPNU, 7 p.m.), Old Dominion at James Madison (NBC Sports, 7 p.m.), Tennessee at Vanderbilt (ESPN2, 7 p.m.), Kansas State at Baylor (ESPN, 8 p.m.), UTEP at Southern Mississippi (CBS Sports, 8 p.m.), BYU at San Jose State (ESPN2, 10:30 p.m.) and Arizona at Utah (ESPNU, 10:30 p.m.).
