The Grammys aren’t until Feb. 10, but tonight is The Grammy Nominations Concert Live (CBS, 10 p.m.) in which many of the top categories will be announced on TV (and the 90 other categories will be unleashed online).

Perhaps because Taylor Swift co-hosting the event with L.L. Cool J, the event takes place in Nashville for the first time. Maroon 5, Fun, Luke Bryan, the Band Perry, Dierks Bentley are among the performers. A tribute to Johnny Cash is planned. And The Who will also perform.

Playing opposite the live event in Nashville, oddly, is the show “Nashville” (ABC, 10 p.m.).

It’s Christmas on shows as different as “Modern Family” (ABC, 9 p.m.) and “Suburgatory” (ABC, 9:30 p.m.) to “American Horror Story” (FX, 10 p.m.).

Other holiday fare tonight includes “The Nightmare Before Christmas” (Disney XD, 7:30 p.m.). “Naughty or Nice” (Hallmark, 8 p.m.) and “The Polar Express” (ABC Family, 9 p.m.).
The big anchor Hector is arrested on the second episode of “The Hour” (BBC America, 9 p.m.). Still not too late to jump in.
I’m sure the secondary title on “600 Pound Mom: Race Against Time” (TLC, 9 p.m.) is figurative.

Two episodes of “The First 48” (Bio, 8 and 9 p.m.) don’t add up to the mayhem on “Panic 9-1-1” (BIO, 10 p.m.).

Lisa Wheichel continues to be shrewd player on “Survivor” (CBS, 8 p.m.).

“Ghost Hunter” (Syfy, 9 p.m.) ends its eighth season by returning to the Mark Twain House in Hartford.

Patricia Arquette guest stars on “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” (NBC, 9 p.m.).

A monthlong 55-film Wednesday night showcase of the films of Barbara Stanwyck, one of the toughest ladies in Hollywood, begins tonight with a Frank Capra romance from 1930, “Ladies of Leisure 8 p.m.) followed by “This is My Affair” (9:45 p.m.), “The Other Love” (11:45 p.m.), “A Message to Garcia” (1:30 a.m.), “Stella Dallas” (3 a.m.) and “The Miracle Woman” (5 a.m.).

NBA action includes Bulls at Cavaliers (ESPN, 8 p.m.) and Mavericks at Clippers (ESPN, 10:30 p.m.). In men’s college basketball it’s Florida at Florida State (ESPNU, 7 p.m.); in women’s games, it’s Baylor at Notre Dame (ESPN2, 7 p.m.).
