Lyric soprano Ailyn Perez, left, winner of this year’s Richard Tucker Award for young opera singers, is the focus of tonight’s “Live from Lincoln Center” (PBS, 8 p.m., check local listings).
The Chicago native will begin with the Gavotte from Massenet’s “Manon” for her Avery Fisher Hall debut.
Other prize winners will also perform, including Perez’ husband Stephen Costello, Quinn Kelsey, Jamie Barton. Also part of the night will be Lyudmyla Monastyrska, Tara Erraught, Guiseppe Filianoti, Gerald Finley, Erwin Schrott, Dimitri Hvorostovsky, Ildar Abdrazakhov, Olga Borodina and Marcello Giordani. Patrick Summers will conduct. Audra McDonald hosts.

Long before Anne Hathaway tackled it, there were several other stabs at the Victor Hugo classic. The 1935 “Les Miserables” (TCM, 8 p.m.) has Fredric March and Charles Laughton; the  1952 “Les Miserables” (TCM, 10:30 p.m.) with Debra Paget and Edmund Gwenn and the 1934 “Les Miserables” (TCM, midnight) with Harry Baur.

I’m thinking the vote totals on the semi-finals of “The X Factor” (Fox, 8 p.m.) might have been kept back by competition Wednesday by the 12-12-12 Concert for Sandy. Nonetheless, two will be eliminated, I’m guessing both of Simon’s groups.

The gang of “Impractical Jokers” (truTV, 10 p.m.) return for a new season. My question is: Why are they on truTV?

Which very special Christmas episode will be more heart warming? The one on “Glee” (Fox, 9 p.m.) or the one on “The Vampire Diaries” (The CW, 8 p.m.)?

Never a good idea to have the people on “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” (FX, 10 p.m.) go to a fancy restaurant.

If it hasn’t been tainted already by the antics of practical joking Australian DJs, “Secrets of the Royal Nursery” (Lifetime, 10 p.m.) is certainly timely.

Howie Mandel has gone too far. The fourth consecutive night of “Take It All” (NBC, 9 p.m.) takes the place of “Parks and Recreation” and “The Office.” Also missing: “30 Rock.”

But there are two final single-camera episodes of “Up All Night” (NBC, 8 and 8:30 p.m.). When it returns in April, it will be live in a studio audience like “The Big Bang Theory” (CBS, 8 p.m.).

Up early? Golden Globe nominations (E!, 8 p.m.) are announced in Los Angeles.

OK OK we believe in you: “Miracle on 34th Street” (AMC, 8 and 10:15 p.m.).

It’s Bengals at Eagles (NFL, 8 p.m.) in Thursday Night Football.

NBA action includes Lakers at Knicks (TNT, 8 p.m.) and Spurs at Trail Blazers (TNT, 10:30 p.m.).
