Al Weiwei, the versatile and imaginative and bold Chinese artist gets an in-dept portrait from first time director Alison Klayman in “Al Weiwei: Never Sorry” premiering tonight on “Independent Lens” (PBS, 10 p.m., check local listings).
It’s tough enough to be an artist anywhere, but Weiwei also had to contend with repressive Chinese authorities who shut down his blog, flattened his studio, beat him up and held him in detention.
As his just-closed show at the Hirsshorn demonstrated, he’s a fearless, funny and multi-faceted person, who never imagined himself a focal point for dissent and artistic freedom in his home country.
It’s the creepiest episode of “The Bachelor” (ABC, 8 p.m.), the one involving invitations to overnights in the fantasy suites, this time in Thailand. Just three are left; two will remain at the end. I think he’s gotten rid of all the good women already.

James Brolin guest stars on “Castle” (ABC, 10 p.m.).
A plan to breakup the kidnapping threesome is hatched on “The Following” (Fox, 9 p.m.).
Not since Michael Jordan has the master of one sport put himself on the line for another as Olympic swimming champ Michael Phelps tries to better his golf game on “The Haney Project” (Golf, 9 p.m.).
There is more televised analysis about fancy-gown wearing than acting and film in the post Academy Award shows “2013 Academy Awards Fashion Wrap” (TCM, 8 p.m.) and “Fashion Police: The 2013 Academy Awards” (E!, 8:30 p.m.).
I thought Jessica Chastain’s outfit at the Oscars owed a lot to the Jessica featured in “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” (TCM, 8 p.m.), kicking off part of the 31 Nights of Oscar saluting Columbia films with “Dead Poets Society” (TCM, 10 p.m.), “Good Morning, Vietnam” (TCM, 12:30 a.m.) and “The Color of Money” (TCM, 2:45 a.m.).
“Vanderpump Rules” (Bravo, 9 p.m.) reaches its first season finale; the women on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” (Bravo, 8 p.m.) travel to Paris without Taylor.
Men’s college hoops tonight includes Syracuse at Marquette (ESPN, 7 p.m.), Texas Tech at Kansas State (ESPNU, 7 p.m.), Kansas at Iowa State (ESPN, 9 p.m.) and Villanova at Seton Hall (ESPNU, 9 p.m.). Among women, it’s Baylor vs. Oklahoma (ESPN, 7 p.m.).
In hockey, it’s Dallas at Nashville (NBC Sports, 8 p.m.).
