Twelve designers will work with mentors to present lines they hope will be purchased by three retailers on hand, Macy’s, Saks Fifth Avenue and Express.

Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie and John Varvatos return as judges and mentors for the show, which might be one of the most direct product placement shows on TV (its winning lines each week are usually available the next day in stores).

It follows the first new episode of “Grimm” (NBC, 9 p.m.) in four months. It broke at a crucial moment last year when Juliette hooking up with Captain Renard, boss of her former beau, Nick.

The recently started “Golden Boy” (NBC, 9 p.m.) did so well, it will be taking over the Tuesday night slot held by “Vegas” starting next month. And the Dennis Quaid period saga about old Nevada will then be moving to Fridays.

The CEO of a California ski resort becomes “Undercover Boss” (CBS, 8 p.m.).

Arianna Huffington, journalist Charlie LeDuff, health care expert Avik Roy, former Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele and funnyman David Cross are guests on a new “Real Time with Bill Maher” (HBO, 10 p.m.).

A rodeo workout is pitched on “Shark Tank” (ABC, 9 p.m.).

Bill McKibben talks environmental concerns on a new “Need to Know” (PBS, 8:30 p.m., check local listings).

Poverty in Camden, N.J., is explored on a new “Rock Center with Brian Williams” (NBC, 10 p.m.).

Planning a wedding at a Train concert seems a bad idea on the second of two episodes of “Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta” (TLC 9 and 9:30 p.m.).

“Cult” (The CW, 9 p.m.) didn’t get any cult following; it’s playing on lowly Friday nights now.

Turner Classic Movies begins a month-long, Friday night, 14 film salute to director Roberto Rossellini with three of his 1940s films “Rome, Open City” (8 p.m.), “Paisan” (110 p.m.) and “Germany Year Zero” (12:15 a.m.).

One thing about the 31 Days of Oscar being over, at least the weird Friday night Underground films can start again. Tonight it’s an Arch Hall Jr. double feature., with is starring role in Ray Dennis Steckler’s rock ‘n’ roll movie “Wild Guitar” (TCM, 2 a.m.) followed by his role as a killer in “The Sadist” (TCM, 3:45 a.m.) — both from the early 60s.

In NBA action, it’s Hawks at Celtics (ESPN, 8 p.m.) and Rockets at Warriors (ESPN, 10:30 p.m.).

Men’s college hoops includes Kent State at Akron (ESPN2, 7 p.m.), Tennessee State vs. Belmont (ESPNU, 7 p.m.) and Santa Clara vs. Loyola Marymount (ESPNU, 9 p.m.).

It’s Mexico vs. United States (MLB, 9 p.m.) in the World Baseball Classic that also includes Canada vs. Italy (MLB, 2:30 p.m.) and Spain vs. Puerto Rico (MLB, 5:30 p.m.).
