The five living presidents gather this morning for George W. Bush Presidential Library Dedication Ceremony (CNN, CSPAN, 11 a.m.) live from the campus of Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
It will be the first time Barack Obama, the two Bushes, Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter have met together since just before Obama’s inaugural more than four years ago. The presidential library commemorating the two terms of the 43rd president covers the Sept. 11 terror attacks, the Katrina Hurricane, the Iraq and Afghanistan wars and the financial meltdown and will open to the public May 1.
Conducted more and more like an event as big as any Monday Night Football game is the NFL Draft (ESPN, 8 p.m.) in New York’s Radio City Music Hall. Kansas City gets first pick in the opening round.
A winner is named at the end of the season 11 finale of “Project Runway” (Lifetime, 9 p.m.) and another hectic time at New York Fashion Week. Michael Kors is guest judge. Last week’s episode, featuring Tim Gunn’s hometown visits to the finalists, precedes the action at 8 p.m.
The rash of violence in real life — most recently the bombings at the Boston Marathon last week, but also December’s school killings in Newtown, Conn. — caused NBC to yank what would have been the fourth episode of “Hannibal” (NBC, 10 p.m.) involving a woman who brainwashes children to kill other children. They’ll fit in another episode instead.
Newtown is echoed too in the documentary “America’s Gun: The Rise of the AR-15” (CNBC, 10 p.m. and 1 a.m.). Brian Sullivan reports on the increasingly popular firearm, a weapon of choice at Sandy Hook Elementary and at the movie theater in Aurora.
Holmes doesn’t really want to celebrate one year of sobriety on “Elementary” (CBS, 10 p.m.).
Gweneth Paltrow appears on “The Graham Norton Show” (BBC America, 10 p.m.).
Roseanne Barr, playing an agent, tries to help Andy land an acting role on “The Office” (NBC, 9 p.m.), where Jim and Pam go to marriage counseling.
Leslie tries to get Councilman Jamm save the local miniature golf park on a new “Parks and Recreation” (NBC, 9:30 p.m.). It’s worth noting that Jon Glaser, who plays Councilman Jamm, also plays Laird, the former junkie on “Girls.”
What may be more interesting than the elimination of one of the final four on “American Idol” (Fox, 8 p.m.) tonight may be the announcement of a “new twist” that may affect the finale.
The fight for valedictorian turns ugly on “Community” (NBC, 8 p.m.).
In the new “Giving You the Business” (Food Network, 10 p.m.), executives pick four employees to compete in management skills, with the winner getting their own franchises.
It’s not “The Amazing Race,” but there are amazing races in the films on Turner Classic Movies tonight, with “Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines” (8 p.m.), “Bite the Bullet” (10:30 p.m.), “The Great Race” (1 a.m.) and “Around the World in 80 Days” (4:15 a.m.).
NBA playoff games tonight include Miami at Milwaukee (TNT, 7 p.m.), Brooklyn at Chicago (NBA, 8:30 p.m.) and Clippers at Memphis (TNT, 9:30 p.m.).
Hockey action includes Pittsburgh at New Jersey (NBC Sports, 7:30 p.m.) and Anaheim at Vancouver (NHL, 10 p.m.).
