radioCPRHey, it was my first solo, non-training radio show on Radio CPR 97.5 FM Friday night and I only stumbled into a couple of moments of dead air as far as I could figure.

It was fun to sit and play music for three hours, which was maybe an hour longer than I was supposed to, but nobody came to kick me out so that was cool.

The conceit of the show was odd, playing music from people who happened to be playing D.C. that night, starting with the lesser known side of Paul McCartney (who was at Nationals Stadium), then NRBQ (The Hamilton), Belle & Sebastian and Yo La Tengo (Merriweather Post Pavilion) and even The Specials (The Fillmore). Also, one playing Saturday: OMD (9:30 Club).

In addition, I was the last D.C. DJ to salute the passing of Bobby “Blue” Bland with a set, sampled a new Tom Jones album and closed with a bunch of Daft Punk.

The whole setlist is on the jump. Someday I’ll add info on podcast and streaming once I figure it out. One day at a time, as Bonnie Franklin once said.
