Amid the reruns and sports, there’s a new family film on broadcast TV, albeit one tied to ultimate American Girl doll product placement.
“An American Girl: Saige Paints the Sky” (NBC, 8 p.m.) stars Sidney Fullmer as a 9-year-old painter of horse pictures who is unhappy that art classes have been cut from her school. Jane Seymour plays her grandmother.
Elsewhere in movies tonight, Rashida Jones co-wrote and stars with Andy Samberg star in last year’s romantic comedy “Celeste and Jesse Forever” (Starz, 9 p.m.). Also doing double duty is Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA, who directed and stars in the martial arts movie “The Man with the Iron Fists” (Cinemax, 10 p.m.). Also making its premium cable debut is Seth MacFarlane’s crudely talking teddy bear movie “Ted” (HBO, 8 p.m.).
Jeff Foxworthy, Larry the Cable Guy and Bill Engvall are the voices for a new prime time cartoon “Bounty Hunters” (CMT, 10 p.m.) an odd offering for that channel, coming a couple hours after that other bounty hunter, “Dog and Beth: On the Hunt” (CMT, 8 p.m.). In between is the always reliable “Redneck Island” (CMT, 9 p.m.).
Lots of numbers on prime time broadcast TV: “Zero Hour” (ABC, 8 p.m.), “666 Park Avenue” (ABC, 9 p.m.), “48 Hours” (CBS, 9 p.m.) and “20/20” (ABC, 10 p.m.). They’are all expecting low ratings numbers overall.
“The Haunting of Rowdy Roddy Piper” (BIO, 10 p.m.) sounds intriguing. Maybe he got a spirit up his kilt.
Earlier, holy career drop! Burt Ward is among those featured on “Celebrity Ghost Stories” (BIO, 9 p.m.).
“Who Framed Roger Rabbit” (Cartoon Network, 7 p.m.) gets a replay.
“Wanda Sykes Presents Hilarious” (OWN, 10 p.m.) is the latest showcase for female comedians, taped in Oprah’s old Chicago studio with such comics as Andi Smith, Marina franklin and Gloria Bigelow.
The title “Life with LaToya: Extra Giggles” (OWN, 9 and 9:30 p.m.) suggests they were repressing giggles from the regular eupsodes.
It’s a Rosalind Russell triple play on Turner Classic Movies with “The Women” (8 p.m.), “Hired Wife” (10:30 p.m.0 and “The Feminine Touch” (12:15 a.m.).
Later comes a horror double feature: “The House of Seven Corpses” (TCM, 2 a.m.) and “The Haunting” (3:30 a.m.).
“Sinbad” (Syfy, 9 p.m.) meets a mysterious woman, though he should probably be meeting a Sharknado.
Nationals at Marlins (Fox, 7 p.m.) gets a national audience on Saturday Night Baseball.
Miranda Lambert plays a rerun of “Austin City Limits” (PBS, 9 p.m., check local listings).
The most recent Zach Galifianakis hosted “Saturday Night Live” (NBC, 11:30 p.m.) is rerun. Of Monsters and Men are musical guests.
