Started with some Byrds and topical “Shut Down” from the Beach Boys, then a bunch of They Might Be Giants because they’re in town for the comedy fest. Also, some music from other acts playing hereabouts from Ra Ra Riot and Franz Ferdinand to Tift Merritt.
There was a salute to the end of “Breaking Bad” and a longer memorial to Philip Chevron, guitarist and occasional songwriter for The Pogues, who died this week of cancer at just 56.
There was a touch of Pixies, whose January show went on sale and promptly sold out today, some selections form a new “Boardwalk Empire” soundtrack and ended with a forthcoming new Jimi Hendrix live album from 1968.
