Movies may still be one of the strongest U.S. exports, but that doesn’t mean they’re any easier to make. In fact, a lot of the hard work comes in raising money to fund them, even when there are big names attached.

To prove it, Alec Baldwin and director James Toback buttonholed famous friends, financiers, producers and stars during the Cannes Film Festival last year to try to get an updated “Last Tango in Paris” funded. One sure thing they ended up with was a film about their efforts, in the unusual but quite star-studded documentary “Seduced and Abandoned” (HBO, 9 p.m.).

Baldwin also recently started a Friday night talk show on MSNBC, but who doesn’t have a talk show? Another one starts tonight: “The Pete Holmes Show” (TBS, midnight), a comedy thing, that runs right after the nightly “Conan” (TBS, 11 p.m.).

Now tied 2-2, the World Series continues with Boston at St. Louis (Fox,8 p.m.).

It’s Seattle at St. Louis (ESPN, 8:25 p.m.) in Monday Night Football.

Sounds like a nightmare: Guy Fieri on a “Guy’s Family Cruise” (Food, 9 p.m.).

Wonder if Oliver Stone has improved his teaching skills on “Dream School” (Sundance, 10 p.m.).

“Love & Hip Hop” (VH1, 8 p.m.) returns for a fourth season and it seems like Hip Hop is winning (Yandy lost her fiance).

A history of rhinoplasty is an expected segment of “E! Entertainment Special: Tori Spelling” (E!, 10 p.m.).

Unexpected guests can always be a problem but especially when you are “Hostages” (CBS, 10 p.m.).

The two month Monday and Tuesday film history course on Turner Classic Movies is coming to an end with “The Story of Film: An Odyssey: 1967-1979 – New American Cinema” (10 p.m.) with some pretty great examples: “The Graduate” (8 p.m.), “McCabe and Mrs. Miller” (11:15 p.m.), “The Last Picture Show” (1:30 a.m.) and “Mean Streets” (3:45 a.m.).

Hockey action includes Montreal at Rangers (NBC Sports, 7:30 p.m.).
