tattooTitans“Tattoo Titans” (CMT, 11 p.m.) is the latest and maybe third tattoo artist competition, organized as if it’s “Project Runway” or the current incarnation, “Project Runway: Under the Gunn” (Lifetime, 9 p.m.). The difference is that the tattoo artists vying for their $10,000 prize have to use actual skin of volunteers to show their skills. Those doing bad work  get eliminated, but what about the people who have to walk around with bad ink the rest of their lives? Also, they have to hear the judgment from people with neck tattoos, whose judgement therefore is already immediately suspect.

Since halfpipe snowboarding is a Winter Sport, maybe someday tattooing will be as well. OK, it may be clear that I’m finally getting tired of the Winter Olympics (NBC, 8 p.m.). Haven’t they started repeating the same routines in the figure skating? Primetime tonight features men’s figure skating, slopstyle finals in men’s freestyle skiing, the 1,000 meter in women’s speedskating and the women’s skeleton. Earlier events include U.S. vs. Slovakia (NBC Sports, 7:30 a.m.) in the first hockey match; then there’s biatholon and the time relay in theluge at 3 p.m. on NBC.

The six remaining chefs on “The Taste” (ABC, 9 p.m.) have to come up with some food and beer tastings.

Sam Raimi directed tonight’s episode of “Rake” (Fox, 8 p.m.) in which Denis OHare plays a mayor’s top economic adviser. It’s the only scripted show on broadcast TV that’s not a rerun.

“American Idol” (Fox, 8 p.m.) wraps up its selection of 15 men and 15 women to go into its semifinals. I’m thinking contestants could very easily take the stairs instead of the elevator to hear the news.

The 80th birthday this week of Florence Henderson is reason enough to call for a reunion of her “Brady Bunch” children Christopher Knight, Mike Lookinland, Susan Olsen and Barry Williams on “The Talk” (CBS, 2 p.m.).

Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb are guests on “Watch What Happens: Live” (Bravo, 11 p.m.).

Building robots who will play dodgeball for you seems right up the alley of those vying for the title “King of the Nerds” (TBS, 10 p.m.).

Will you stay up and wait until the start time for season two of “House of Cards” (Netflix, 3 a.m.)? It’s tempting, though it might ruin your Valentine’s Day.

Oscar’s best actor nominees in 1955 are featured on Turner Classic Movies, with James Dean for “East of Eden” (8 p.m.), Ernest Borgnine, who won for “Marty” (10:15 p.m.), James Cagney for “Love Me or Leave Me” (midnight), Frank Sinatra for “The Man with the Golden Arm” (2:30 a.m.) and Spencer Tracy for “Bad Day at Black Rock” (5 a.m.).

A couple of the last NBA games before he All-Star break has Brooklyn at Chicago (TNT, 8 p.m.) and Oklahoma City at Lakers (TNT, 10:30 p.m.).

Men’s college hoops include Drexel at College of Charleston (NBC Sports Network, 7 p.m.), Arkansas at Missouri (SPN2, 7 p.m.) Louisville at Temple (ESPN, 7 p.m.), Creighton at Butler (CBS Sports, 7 p.m.), Southern Methodist at Rutgers (ESPNews, 7 p.m.), North Carolina Asheville at Radford (ESPNU, 7 p.m.) Colorado at UCLA (ESPN2, 9 p.m.), Minnesota at Wisconsin (ESPN, 9 p.m.), Tennessee State at Belmont (ESPNU, 9 p.m.), St. John’s at Seton Hall (Fox Sports 1, 9 p.m.) and San Diego at Saint Mary’s (ESPNU, 11 p.m.).
