CBS continues its effort of presenting a Saturday night feature documentary, this one on the eve of March Madness. “Summer Dreams” (CBS, 8 p.m.) follows four rookie players at the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas last summer, spotlighting Lauren Holtkamp as she attempts to become the third-ever full=time referee and second current ref in the NBA. It accompanies another episode of “48 Hours” (CBS, 10 p.m.), involving two 30-year-old murder cases.
Mostly, though the old school newsmagazine start to pile up on Saturday nights just as do on the coffee table. The newest is “Nightline Prime” (ABC, 9 p.m.), the first pre-midnight appearance of the show in a while. It precedes a “20/20” (ABC, 10 p.m.) about the kidnapping of a baby 50 years ago.On And a father of three succumbs to death by antifreeze on a two hour “Dateline” (NBC, 8 p.m.).
How did we become so interested in zombies? Alexandre O. Philippe’s documentary “Doc of the Dead” (Epix, 8 p.m.) hopes to answer that. It’s sandwiched by two zombie flicks itself, the original “Night of the Living Dead” 6:15 p.m.) and “World War Z” (Epix, 9:30 p.m.).
The TV movie “The Grim Sleeper” (Lifetime, 8 p.m.) Dreama Walker stars as a reporter who connects some murders from the 1980s to those in the 60s. Dreama Walker stars.
