Diana-Nyad-and-Henry-Byalikov-Dancing-with-the-Stars-Video-500x281She may have been the first person to swim from Florida to Cuba in shark-invested seas, but Diana Nyad  couldn’t navigate “Dancing with the Stars” for more than one week, becoming the first person eliminated from the 18th season of the show.

Not far behind was another athlete, Sean Avery, the NHL star with a controversial career, who was the other one ousted in the double elimination.

Even in a season dominated by sports figures, only the Olympians survive — with ice dancing gold medalists Charlie White and Meryl Davis topping all scores with their separate dances Monday with 25 each and Paralympics star Amy Purdy not far back with 24.

Both Nyad and Avery didn’t do terribly in their debuts last week — scoring 18 and 20 respectively. But they clearly didn’t have the Force with them, as did Billy Dee Williams, who again scored the low 15 from judges Monday, just as he did last week. Home viewers apparently refuse to vote out  Lando Carlissian from “Star Wars.”

Robin Roberts joins as guest judge next week as the remaining 10 dance.
