Bermuda-Tentacles-1It’s surprising that the Syfy network has been so slow to follow up the success of hybrid monster B-movies epitomized by “Sharknado.” But there’s another one tonight, “Bermuda Tentacles” (Syfy, 9 p.m.) that has all the elements: giant monster from the sea, Air Force One gone missing and a cast that includes Linda Hamilton and Jamie Kennedy.

Another original TV movie is “Death Clique” (Lifetime, 8 p.m.) in which a rivalry between three high school girls leads to a death. It stars Lexi Ainsworth, barbara Alyn Woods and Brittany Underwood.

The latest reality show set in Great North,  “Dr. Oakley, Yukon Vet” (Nat Geo Wild, 9 p.m.) follows the work of Dr. Michelle Oakley in the Yukon Territory, who has a variety of work and house calls to keep her busy, from porcupine attacks on a dog to injured owls. As with most of these shows, it’s just as interesting to see the wide variety of her customers. It’s also more fast moving than most such shows, with a lot of cases depicted.

She finds none of the cases depicted in “Sex Sent Me to the ER” (TLC, 9 p.m.), which tonight features a woman with a two hour orgasm .

Setting the stage for next week’s season premiere “Orphan Black: The Cloneversation” (BBC America, 8 p.m.) features cast members Tatiana Maslany and Jordan Gavaris with fans Wil Wheaton, Patton Oswalt and Orlando Jones.

The new series “Love in the City” (OWN, 10 p.m.) is a kinder, more Oprah-centric reality version of “Sex and the City” following four women in New York at work and working on relationships and health.

The second season finale of “Ripper Street” (BBC America, 9 p.m.) features bodies in a tenement and a police boxing championship.

Big sci-fi movies  from last year get their premium cable debuts, from Guillermo del Toro’s “Pacific Rim” (HBO, 8 p.m.)  with Charlie Hunnam and Idris Elba to “Oblivion” (Cinemax, 10 p.m.) with Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman.

Also on cable tonight is Quentin Tarantino’s “Django Unchained” (Showtime, 8 p.m.) with Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington, Leonardo DiCapri and Samuel L. Jackson.

Other movies on cable tonight include “The Help” (TNT, 8 p.m.), “Just Go With It” (FX, 8 p.m.), “Napoleon Dynamite” (IFC, 8 p.m.), “Sexy Beast” (Sundance, 9 p.m.), “The Conjuring” (More Max, 9 p.m.), “Ghostbusters” (VH1, 9 p.m.) and “National Lampoon’s Vacation” (IFC, 10 p.m.).

Marilyn Monroe stars in “How to Marry a Millionaire” (TCM, 8 p.m.), “The Misfits” (TCM, 9:45 p.m.) and “Bus Stop” (TCM, 13:14 a.m.). But she leaves before it’s time for “Disco Godfather” (TCM, 2 a.m.) and “Shaft” (TCM, 3:45 a.m.).

Russell Crowe, Cameron Diaz and Kylie Minogue are on “The Graham Norton Show” (BBC America, 11 p.m.).

Saturday night on broadcast TV is like a coffee table with the newsmagazines stacking up: “Dateline” (NBC, 8 p.m.), “48 Hours” (CBS, 9 nd 10 p.m.), “20/20” (ABC, 9 p.m.) and “Nightline Prime” (ABC, 10 p.m.).

 

Baseball today includes Boston at Yankees (Fox Sports 1, 1:05 p.m.), Colorado at San Francisco (MLB, 4:05 p.m.) and Dodgers at Arizona (MLB, 8:10 p.m.).

Prime time broadcast sports offers the Bojangles Southern 500 (Fox, 6 p.m.) NASCAR race from Darlington, S.C.

Hockey includes Philadelphia at Pittsburgh (NBC, 3 p.m.), Rangers at Montreal (NHL, 7 p.m.) and Chicago at Nashville (NBC Sports, 8 p.m.). In basketball, Phoenix at Dallas (NBA, 8:30 p.m.).  There is also third round action in the Masters (CBS, 3 p.m.).

Gary Clark Jr. plays a replay of “Austin City Limits” (PBS, 9 p.m., check local listings).

Seth Rogen returns to host a new “Saturday Night Live” (NBC, 11:30 p.m.) with musical guest Ed Sheeran. Earlier, last week’s musical show with Anna Kendrick reruns at 10 p.m., opposite a viewing of her own “Pitch Perfect” (HBO Signature, 9 p.m.).
