grantchester“Masterpiece” is cashing in its success with lavish English drama by doubling down, following its latest episode of “Downton Abbey” on “Masterpiece Classic” (PBS, 9 p.m., check local listings) with a new series on “Masterpiece Mystery!” (PBS, 10 p.m., check local listings).

 

James Norton stars as a small town vicar who turns detective following a spate of murder in their otherwise pleasant town. “Grantchester” also stars Robson Green as a resident detective inspector who becomes his ally and Morven Christie, as a love interest. It starts a series of investigations that won’t look much different to those who watched things like “Inspector Lewis” or “Inspector Morse.”

Find out who’s going to the Super Bowl with the results of today’s two divisional championships – Green Bay at Seattle (Fox, 3 p.m.) in the NFC and Indianapolis at New England (CBS, 6:30 p.m.) in the AFC.

Barry Gordy, Quincy Jones, Sidney Potier, the Rev. Jesse Jackson, Rep. John Lewis and civil rights leader Diane Nash are among those honored on the special “Oprah Winfrey Presents: Legends Who Paved the Way” (OWN, 9 p.m.), a tie-in to Martin Luther King Day and her own movie “Selma.

Hanna tries to adjust to Iowa on a new “Girls” (HBO, 9 p.m.).

Michelle tries to switch things up in the bedroom with Brett on a new “Togetherness” (HBO, 9:30 p.m.) and Tina takes on Alex as a project. Patrick is a little freaked out about his rash on “Looking” (HBO, 10 p.m.).

Fiona gets off house arrest on “Shameless” (Showtime, 9 p.m.).

Marty meets the electric car king on “House of Lies” (Showtime, 10 p.m.). Some uncomfortable meetings are held on “Episodes” (Showtime, 10:30 p.m.).

A quite different documentary is “Nicki Minaj: My Time Again” (MTV, 10 p.m.), about her new album “The Pinkprint.”

Ricky Gervais, Rutger Hauer and Al Yankovic pop up on the two episodes of “Galavant” (ABC, 8 p.m.).

The 2011 Kristen Wiig hit “Bridesmaids” (NBC, 8 p.m.) gets a primetime network showcase.

Men’s college hoops today include St. John’s at DePaul (Fox Sports 1, 2:30 p.m.), Saint Joseph’s at St. Bonaventure (NBC Sports, 2:30 p.m.), Missouri State at Northern Carolina (ESPNU, 6:30 p.m.) and Oregon at Washington (ESPNU, 8:30 p.m.).

In women’s games, it’s George Mason at Richmond (ESPNU, noon), Villanova at Xavier (Fox Sports 1, noon), South Florida at Connecticut (ESPN2, 1 p.m.), Kentucky at LSU (ESPNU, 2 p.m.), Iowa at Michigan State (ESPN2, 3 p.m.) and Dayton at St. Bonaventure (NBC Sports, 5 p.m.).

NHL action includes Rangers at Pittsburgh (NBC, 12:30 p.m.) and Buffalo at Detroit (NBC Sports, 8 p.m.).

A Gregory Peck double feature features the classic “To Kill a Mockingbird” (TCM, 8 p.m.) with “Duel in the Sun” (TCM, 10:15 p.m.). Later comes a Buster Keaton silent “Our Hospitality” (TCM, 12:45 a.m.) and two films by Japanese New Wave director Koreyoshi Kurahara, “The Warped Ones” (TCM, 2:15 a.m.) and “I am Waiting” (TCM, 4 a.m.).
