The good news about the new “Knock Knock Live” (Fox, 9 p.m.) is that it is NOT an hour of Kellie Pickler telling knock knock jokes. Instead, Pickler and a peck of other celebrities as picked by host Ryan Seacrest knock on people’s doors and make them eligible to win money by answering the right questions, doing a stunt or maybe just being home.
It’s listed as “live” but only as much as late night shows are “live” — they’re taped earlier in the day and presented in prime time. And if nobody is home, none of it will work. And maybe they will have to tell those jokes.
Because they just don’t get enough praise and renumeration: The first NBA Players Association Awards (BET, 8 p.m.). It’s voted on by players and the event is hosted by Jay Pharaoh of “SNL.” Performers include Jason Derulo, Lil Wayne, DJ Khaled, 2 Chainz, Monica, Kid Ink and Fifth Harmony.
“So You Think You Can Dance” (Fox, 8 p.m.) holds a 10th anniversary special for itself, with highlights from each season (and they don’t eliminate anybody).
A very timely “Frontline” (PBS, 10 p.m.) looks at the emend of Joaquin Guzman Loera, aka El Chapo, the Mexican drug lord who just happened to escape from prison a second time 10 days ago.
The three-night, six-hour “Tut” (Spike, 9 p.m.) comes to a conclusion. But before he goes, he makes sure he’ll make a big impression in the grave.
In the two hour special “Humanity form Space” (PBS, 8 p.m., check local listings) looks at the connectedness of humans as seen from space, to show how they’ve grown cities and built transportation routes.
“Big Smo” (A&E, 10 p.m.) returns for a second season, realizing having a reality show isn’t the same as having songs on the radio.
President Obama stops by to say goodbye on to Jon Stewart on “The Daily Show” (Comedy Central, 11 p.m.).
Wanda Sykes, Josh Groban, Jerry Ferrara, Cheryl Hines, Ciara and Michael Chiklis play “Hollywood Game Night” (NBC, 10 p.m.).
The theme on Turner Classic Movies is “Seeing Red,” which I think means the redheads in “Cover Girl” (8 p.m.), “The Quiet Man” (10 p.m.), “Scaramouche” (12:30 a.m.), “Peeping Tom” (2:30 a.m.) and “Made in Paris” (4:30 a.m.).
Baseball includes Cubs at Cincinnati (MLB, 7 p.m.).
