Started with a couple of Bettyes, one of whom was in town Thursday. Also in town that night was Elvis Costello, on his book tour, so I played a few songs that were mentioned, starting with the one he actually played.
Also played from the Bottle Rockets and the Jayhawks’ Mark Olson who were also in town this week.
It was Nico’s birthday, so I played some of her greatest hits with the Velvet Underground.
Mercury Rev was in town tonight, so played a track in their honor. Then closed with Chuck Prophet and the Kinks, whose Dave Davies is coming around next week.
Here’s what I played on the radio tonight.
