DoNotDisturbNew shows tonight have everything to do with the Halloween season. “Do Not Disturb: Hotel Horrors” (Investigation Discovery, 9 p.m.) looks into crimes that happened after check in. The first case is the 2010 Soho House murder in which a fashion designer was killed by the heir to the song “You Light Up My Life.”

Of course, murders have been happening all along on “American Horror Story: Hotel” (FX, 10 p.m.).

“Hellevator” (GSN, 8 p.m.) isn’t a part of these hotels; instead it’s the name of a new game show testing contestants’ ability to withstand scary scenes before their only escape — the elevator — goes down. It’s from “Paranormal Activity” producer Jason Blum.

This is sort of scary too: A new dating show in which strangers begin with a smooch, “Love at First Kiss” (VH1, 11 p.m.).

Jamal collaborates with Ne-Yo and Cookie acquires allies for her new company on “Empire” (Fox, 9 p.m.) including a concert promoter played by Adam Rodriguez.

Royals at Blue Jays (Fox Sports 1, 4 p.m.) reaches game five in the American League Championship Series. Mets at Cubs (TBS, 8 p.m.) reaches game four in the National League, with New York able to clinch with a win.

Spying with cameras goes too far when house pets are caught on hidden video on the first of a two part “Nature” (PBS, 8 p.m., check local listings).

The second episode of the innovative series “The Brain with Dr. David Eagleman” (PBS, 10 p.m., check local listings) looks at personality, emotions and memory.

Clare takes Alex to take your daughter to work day and Gloria wants to do jury duty on “Modern Family” (ABC, 9 p.m.) .

Laurence Fishburne’s cars drive to “Jay Leno’s Garage” (CNBC, 10 p.m.).

Cartman quits Twitter on a new “South Park” (Comedy Central, 10 p.m.).

The family goes to church on “Black-ish” (ABC, 9:30 p.m.).

When Marty and the professor went into the future in the 1989 sequel “Back to the Future II” (Esquire, 2 p.m.; Discovery Family, 9 p.m.), the date they happened to set was Oct. 21, 2015 — today! — and the Cubs were in the World Series. To mark the actual date, all three movies in the franchise get rerun, starting at noon noon on Esquire and 7 p.m. on Discovery Life.

Nathan Lane picks the titles on Turner Movie Classics tonight. His choices include the 1967 film version of “The Producers” (8 p.m.), followed by “All the President’s Men” (9:45 p.m.), “Being There” (12:15 a.m.), “City Lights” (2:30 a.m.) and “La Cage Aux Folles” (4:15 a.m.).

Hockey tonight includes Flyers at Bruins (NBC Sports Network, 8  p.m.).

In preseason basketball, it’s Washington at Miami (ESPN, 8 p.m.).
