Oprah gets into presenting music on her network with the new series “Legends: OWN at the Apollo” (OWN, 10 p.m.) which starts by saluting Gladys Knight at the legendary Harlem theater. She performs, alongside Stevie Wonder, Dionne Warwick, Yolanda Adams and a Pip or two no doubt.
Leonardo returns for the third and final season of “Da Vinci’s Demons” (Starz, 8 p.m.), only to find that the Ottoman Empire has stolen his designs.
Uhtred wins the protection of Alfred on a new episode of “The Last Kingdom” (BBC America, 10 p.m.). Maybe he’ll also win a new name.
The Nightmare is a threat on “Doctor Who” (BBC America, 9 p.m.).
Jennifer Lopez stars in “The Boy Next Door” (Cinemax, 10 p.m.), making its premium cable debut. Also on tonight is Jason Bateman in “Bad Words” (HBO, 8 p.m.).
“Esquire’s Car of the Year” (Esquire, 9 p.m.) is driven off by Spike Feresten.
The Austrian actor Oscar Homolka is featured on Turner Classic Movies tonight with “I Remember Mama” (8 p.m.), “Comrade X” (10:30 p.m.) and “The Madwoman of Chaillot” (12:15 a.m.).
Later comes the L.A. punk survey “The Decline of Western Civilization Part III” (TCM, 2:45 a.m.).
Because it’s that time of year there’s a new movie from “The Good Witch” (Hallmark, 9 p.m.), in which the townsfolk prepare for Halloween.
