Exorcism-LiveThey might not find anything more than Geraldo Rivera did in Al Capone’s tomb (in fact I’m sure they won’t), but the fun of the bizarre experiment “Exorcism: Live!” (Destination America, 9 p.m.) is how they’ll handle a live event and explain what happens (or most certainly doesn’t) during the event.

Sadly, the psychic medium, Chip Coffey and his team from “Ghost Asylum” will conduct the ceremony on a home, not a possessed person. But it is the home said to have inspired “The Exorcist.” So maybe it will spit its own green pea soup (but again, it most certainly will not). This live event follows the recent “Brain Surgery Live” but sounds more like that other Discovery debacle “Eaten Alive” from last year.

If there is a composer for Halloween, it might be Danny Elfman, whose “Dead Man’s Party” from his band Oingo Boingo led to full soundtracks to a bunch of Tim Burton films, from “Beetlejuice” and “Edward Scissorhands” to the Halloween set “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” Themes from each are played by the 88-piece orchestra on “Live from Lincoln Center” (PBS, 9 p.m., check local listings).

Halloween weekend seems the right time for the season premiere of “Grimm” (NBC, 9 p.m.).

Halloween colors many shows including new episodes of “Last Man Standing” (ABC, 8 p.m.), “Dr. Ken” (ABC, 8:30 p.m.) and even “Hawaii Five-0” (CBS, 9 p.m.) where a killer has been inspired by Frankenstein.

But “Undateable” (NBC, 8 p.m.), which has been presenting its episodes live, is apparently not about Holloween.

At least they won’t take forever with their acceptance speeches: Winners of the American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards 2015 (Hallmark, 8 p.m.).

The Friday night documentaries on the channel have heretofore largely been about music; tonight’s is sports related, about the New York Giants wide receiver, “I Am Giant: Victor Cruz” (Showtime, 9 p.m.).

The World Series moves to Flushing, N.Y. with Game 3 of Royals at Mets (Fox, 8 p.m.).

The doctors test a new hypothesis on “The Knick” (Cinemax, 10 p.m.).

Leah Remini talks about breaking free from Scientology in a new book and in an interview on “20/20” (ABC, 10 p.m.).

“The Amazing Race” (CBS, 8 p.m.) reaches Paris; “America’s Next Top Model” (The CW, 9 p.m.) is in Las Vegas.

“David Tutera’s Celebrations” (WEtv, 10 p.m.) returns for a new season with a celebrity fitting for Vanessa Williams.

Impending Halloween means horror all day on Turner Classic Movies with “The Mummy” (8:15 p.m.), “Dracula, Prince of Darkness” (9:45 a.m.), “Frankenstein Created Woman” (11:30 a.m.), “Dracula has Risen from the Grave” (1:15 p.m.), “Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed!” (3 p.m.), “Crescendo” (4:45 p.m.), “Dracula A.D.” (6:15 p.m.), followed by a night of Val Lewton, including the documentary, “Martin Scorsese Presents, Val Lewton: The Man in the Shadows” (9:30 p.m.) and his films, “Cat People” (8 p.m.), “The Seventh Victim” (11 p.m.), “The Leopard Man” (12:15 a.m.), “The Ghost Ship” (1:30 a.m.), “The Body Snatcher” (2:45 a.m.), “Isle of the Dead” (4:15 a.m.) and “Bedlam” (5:30 a.m.).

NBA action includes Miami at Cleveland (ESPN, 7 p.m.) and Golden State at Houston (ESPN, 9:30 p.m.).

In college football, it’s Louisville at Wake Forest (ESPN2, 7 p.m.), East Carolina at Connecticut (ESPNU, 7 p.m.), Dartmouth at Harvard (NBC Sports, 7:30 p.m.), Louisiana Tech at Rice (Fox Sports 1, 8 p.m.) and Wyoming at Utah State (ESPN2, 10:15 p.m.).
