The last Sunday night of the year is also arguably the worst Sunday night of the year for TV. Scarcely any new scripted episodes of anything are on. Most shows are on hiatus. Reruns are king.
It is, however, the first season finale of “Flesh and Bone” (Starz, 8 p.m.), in which Kiera throws opening night in disarray.
It’s the season finale, too, for the second season of “The Librarians” (TNT, 8 p.m.), which involves time travel back to 1611.
It’s Giants at Vikings (NBC, 8:20 p.m.) in Sunday Night Football. Earlier games include Pittsburgh at Baltimore (CBS, 1 p.m.), Carolina at Atlanta (Fox, 1 p.m.) and Green Bay at Arizona (Fox, 4:25 p.m.).
“An Affair to Remember” (TCM, 8 p.m.) makes way for “Affair in Trinidad” (TCM, 10:15 p.m.). Later comes Cecil B. DeMille’s silent classic “The King of Kings” (midnight) and Ingmar Bergman’s holiday delight, “Fanny and Alexander” (TCM, 2:45 a.m.).
“Harry Potter and the Deadly Hallows, Part 1” (ABC Family, 7 p.m.) is followed immediately by “Part 2” (ABC Family, 9 p.m.).
Four hours of “The Muppets” (ABC, 8 p.m.) doesn’t sound like much of a holiday treat.
A replay of the two hour season five finale of “Downton Abbey” on “Masterpiece” (PBS, 9 p.m.) makes way for the premiere of the final season next Sunday.
Don’t mix up your “Sixth Sense” (Cinemax, 10 p.m.) with your “Seventh Son” (Cinemax, 8:15 p.m.). Other movies with numbers in the title: “Gone in Sixty Seconds” (6:30 p.m.), “2 Fast 2 Furious” (Spike, 6:30 p.m.), “Assault on Precinct 13” (IFC, 5:30 p.m.) and of course “Fifty Shades of Grey” (HBO, 9 p.m.).
A new “Undercover Boss” (CBS, 8 p.m.) investigates ground floor operations of a Nestle Toll House Cafe.
Men’s college basketball includes Presbyterian College at Marquette (Fox Sports 1, 2 p.m.) and Texas Southern at Syracuse (ESPNU, 2 p.m.).
In pro basketball, it’s New York at Boston (NBA, 7 p.m.).
