Having her own moment of exposure, Jane Lynch is on her third consecutive night of being on network TV — after her “Hollywood Game Night” Monday and hosting the People’s Choice Awards Tuesday,  she stars in a new series, about an abrasive guardian angel of a dermatologist played by Maggie Lawson on the new comedy “Angel from Hell” (CBS, 9:30 p.m.).

January is all about feeling bad about your shape, so the latest training competition is “My Diet is Better Than Yours” (ABC, 9 p.m.), hosted by Shaun T, originator of the so-called “Insanity” workout.

David Cross’ character must be making the right decision, as the second season of “The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret” returns for its third season as simply “Todd Margaret” (IFC, 10 p.m.).

The work of art director William Cameron Menzies is being featured all month on Turner Classic Movies each Thursday, hosted by his biographer James Curtis.
