dwts-week-1_0With “American Idol” winding up after this season, maybe it’s time for “Dancing with the Stars” (ABC, 8 p.m.) to do the same. The 22nd (!) season begins tonight with a roster of “celebrities” that includes Geraldo Rivera, football’s Doug Flutie, actress Mischa Barton (pictured) from “The O.C.” and an ex wife of Donald Trump, Marla Maples.

Who else? Two more football players, Von Miller and Antonio Brown, UFC fighter Paige vanZant, Wanya Morris of Boyz II Men, Jodie Sweetin of “Full House,” Kim Fields of “Facts of Life,” “Good Morning America” meteorologist Ginger Zee  and “America’s Next Top Model” winner Nyle DiMarco.

Once again, in many cases the pro dancers with whom they’ll be paired are more famous, including Tony Dovolani, Mark Ballas, Val Chmerkovskiy, Peta Murgatroyd and, returning after a 12 season absence, Edyta Silwinska, who hasn’t missed much in between. Also back is judge Len Goodman, after a one year’s absence, sitting alongside Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli

Jacob Bernstein made a film about his mother Nora Efron, the writer, screenwriter and director Nora Ephron, who died in 2012 at 71. “Everything is Copy” (HBO, 9 p.m.) includes interviews with Ephron’s three sisters and some of the stars of her movies, including Meryl Streep, Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks.

Say so long to “Lost Girl” (Syfy, 10 p.m.) which bids farewell after five seasons.

“Full Frontal with Samantha Bee” (TBS, 10:30 p.m.) follows atheists as they try to talk to conservatives.

The four episode “Major League Legends” (Smithsonian, HOB, 9 p.m.) concludes with a profile of Ted Williams.

Amber Riley and Ricki Lake guest star on a new “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” (The CW, 8 p.m.).

The cast of “Teen Mom 2” (MTV, 10 p.m.), now starting its seventh season, must be pushing 30 by now.

Gordon and Bullock investigate a museum robbery on a new “Gotham” (Fox, 8 p.m.).

Contestants on “RuPaul’s Drag Race” (Lobo, 9 p.m.) must re-enact scenes from “Empire.” This is how the Cookie crumbles.

“Love & Hip Hop” (VH!, 8 p.m.) begins a two-part reunion show to conclude the sixth season.

Kara toys with sharing her secret on a new “Supergirl” (CBS, 8 p.m.).

A production of “Romeo and Juliet” is backdrop for Mariana and Mat’s romance on “The Fosters” (Freeform, 8 p.m.).

Battle rounds continue on “The Voice” (NBC, 8 p.m.).

Contestants on “Cake Wars” (Food, 9 p.m.) mark the 75th anniversary of Archie comics.

On “Scorpion” (CBS, 9 p.m.), Cabe gets captured in Djibouti.

Julia tries to join the Free Traders on “The Magicians” (Syfy, 9 p.m.).

The show is called “Stevie J & Joseline Go Hollywood” (VH1, 9 p.m.) but Stevie J is going back to Atlanta.

A boy is brainwashed by a terrorist cell on a new “NCIS: Los Angeles” (CBS, 10 p.m.).

Kim gets a life-changing proposal on a new “Better Call Saul” (AMC, 10 p.m.).

Men take the night off, but there is second round action in the NCAA women’s tournament, with Indiana vs. Notre Dame (ESPN, 6:30 p.m.) alternating with Washington vs. Maryland, Oklahoma vs. Kentucky and Florida State vs. Texas A&M, then Duquesne vs. Connecticut (ESPN2, 9 p.m.)  alternating with Missouri vs. Texas, South Florida vs. UCLA and South Dakota State vs. Stanford.

Pro basketball includes San Antonio at Charlotte (NBA, 7 p.m.) and Memphis at Phoenix (NBA, 10 p.m.).
