LopezGeorge Lopez plays a character much like himself in his latest new sitcom “Lopez” (TV Land, 10 p.m.), which is not to be mistaken for his short-lived last sitcom “Saint George,” neither of which are like his biggest success, the “George Lopez” show, which of course preceded his talk show “Lopez Tonight.” I think what he needs to do is try a show without his name in the title.

Back for the first time in four months, “Empire” (Fox, 9 p.m.) Lucious and Cookie try to get their company back. Later Jussie Smollett also appears on an episode of “Underground” (WGN America, 10 p.m.).

“States of Undress” (Viceland, 10 p.m.) takes an international look at actual fashion, starting with Karachi Fashion Week in Pakistan, hosted by model Hailey Gates. Like everything else on the network, it looks really interesting.

Everybody but Ted Cruz gets an hour on MSNBC tonight with a John Kasich Town Hall (MSNBC, 7p.m.) followed by a Trump Town Hall (MSNBC, 8 p.m.), a Rachel Maddow one-on-one with Hillary Clinton is scheduled at 9 p.m. and with Bernie Sanders coming in at 10 p.m. Cruz however is on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” (ABC, 11:35 p.m.).

Abby and Ilana try to rent out their apartments, Airbnb style, on a new “Broad City” (Comedy Central, 10 p.m.).

“Bering Sea Gold” (Discovery, 9 p.m.) returns for a sixth season and Shawn sees his dad.

The new “Quit Your Day Job” (Oxygen, 10 p.m.) sounds like yet another “Shark Tank” variation, in which investors mentor young entrepreneurs and are asked for investments. One of them is Randi Zuckerberg.

On the fifth season premiere of “The Soul Man” (TV Land, 10:30 p.m.), Boyce runs for mayor.

The format is almost cliched at this point but “TED Talks: Science and Wonder” (PBS, 10 p.m., check local listings) has scientists talk before a live audience at Town Hall in New York, hosted by author Baratunde Thurston.

Paige and Pastor Tim are burdened with the knowledge of “The Americans” (FX, 10 p.m.) they try to figure out how to handle it.

The full merge occurs on “Survivor” (CBS, 8 p.m.).

“Arrow” (The CW, 8 p.m.) is probably bummed he wasn’t part of the “Supergirl” crossover.

On a new “Heartbeat” (NBC, 8 p.m.) a man speaks backwards due to neurological damage.

On a new “Nature” (PBS, 8 p.m., check local listings), human caretakers reunite wild animals they raised in refuges to see if they still get along.

Is it a surprise that the Lohan family is at the center of drama in “VH1 Family Therapy with Dr. Jenn” (VH1, 8 p.m.)?

“Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders” (CBS, 10 p.m.) travels to Cairo..

Riff’s not ready for the road on “Nashville” (ABC, 10 p.m.).

There’s way too many Wahlbergs on tonight with four new episodes of “Wahlburgers” (A&E, 8 p.m..) followed by two new “Donnie Loves Jenny” (A&E, 10 p.m.). Also two new episodes of “Little Women: L.A.” (Lifetime, 8 p.m.).

The 1936 musical “Pennies from Heaven” (TCM, 8 p.m.) and its variations are on Turner Classic Movies with the 2011 Oscar winner “The Artist” (9:30 p.m.), the 1952 suspense mystery “The Sniper” (11:15 p.m.) and the 1981 “Pennies from Heaven” (1 a.m.) with Steve Martin who is subsequently honored in last year’s “AFI Life Achievement Award” (TCM, 3 a.m.) and his his starring role in the 1991 “Father of the Bride” (TCM, 4:15 a.m.).

Pro basketball has Atlanta at Toronto (NBA, 7:30 p.m.) and Miami at Lakers (NBA, 10:30 p.m.).
