MissUSAA leading candidate for President owned the Miss USA Pageant (Fox, 8 p.m.) for nearly 20 years ago before NBC felt it had to break ties with him because of racist comments about Mexico. Now apparently Trump-free, the pageant replaces animation tonight on Fox, where its activities broadcast live from Las Vegas are still bound to be cartoonish.

Hosts include Terrence Jenkins Julianne Hough and Ashley Graham. Entertaining between the 52 candidates (one not representing a state or district, but the internet) will be Backstreet Boys and Chris Young.

Prime time basketball comes with Game 2 of the Cavaliers at Warriors (ABC, 8 p.m.) in the NBA Finals.

The new series “I Am Rebel” (National Geographic, 9 p.m.) looks at unsung figures in history, starting with the fascinating case of Louis Moore, whose 1972 hijacking of a plane in response to threats made to him by Detroit police, led to the requirement that passengers be screened by security.

“Preacher” (AMC, 9 p.m.) picks back up with its second episode, in which a mysterious duo appears, wanting to wreak havoc.

Selena tries to get votes during the White House Christmas party on “Veep” (HBO, 10:30 p.m.).

A beta version of Pied Piper is finally released on “Silicon Valley” (HBO, 10 p.m.) and things don’t go well. Also, Erich has already made Big Head bankrupt.

Pretty sure that “Game of Silence” (NBC, 10 p.m.) will end for good without resolution to its story tonight. Still going strong: “Game of Thrones” (HBO, 9 p.m.).

Winners from past seasons of “Food Network Star” (Food Network, 9 p.m.) compete on “Guy’s Grocery Games” (Food Network, 8 p.m.) and you still won’t recognize anybody.

On “Shahs of Sunset” (Bravo, 8 p.m.), Reza tries stand-up comedy.

On “Penny Dreadful” (Showtime, 10 p.m.), Sir Malcolm and Hecate arrive at Jarod Talbot’s ranch.

Christine shifts her career emphasis on “The Girlfriend Experience” (Starz, 8 p.m.).

Elizabeth Taylor stars in the 1963 “Cleopatra” (TCM, 8 p.m.), followed by Marion Davies in the silent “The Red Mill” (TCM, midnight). Still later are a pair from Danish director Carl Theodor Dryer, “Order” (TCM, 2 a.m.) and “Gertrud” (TCM, 4:15 a.m.).

The Men’s final of the French Open (NBC, 9 p.m.) follows the women’s doubles final (NBC Sports, 5:30 a.m.).

Baseball includes Toronto at Boston (MLB, 1:30 p.m.) and San Francisco at St. Louis (ESPN, 8 p.m.).

In golf, the final round is played in the Memorial Tournament (CBS, 2:30 p.m.).

And soccer’s Copa America tournament has Jamaica vs. Venezuela (Fox, 5 p.m.) and Mexico vs. Uruguay (Fox Sports 1, 8 p.m.).

In auto racing, it’s the Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix (ABC, 3:30 p.m.).
