Ian Ziering and Tara Reid return for this year’s sequel “Sharknado: The 4th Awakens” (Syfy, 8 p.m.) with the usual all D-level cast that includes David Hasselhoff, Gary Busey, Cheryl Tiegs and Tommy Davidson. As I write this from TCA, let me tell you about about the TCAs: The former is the TV Critics Association summer press tour; the latter is the Teen Choice Awards (Fox, 8 p.m.), which brings confusion every year (at least in my circles).
For the most part, kids know that it’s the second TCAs they’re most interested in. John Cena and Victoria Justice host the event tonight which will feature performances from Charlie Puth, Flo Rida and Seraph from “Empire.” They’re giving Justin Timberlake a decade award. Other top nominees include the TV series “Pretty Little Liars” and the movies “Captain America: Civil War” and “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.”

Ghost considers new business ideas on “Power” (Starz, 9 p.m.) and Anika Noni Rose begins a stint on the show as an FBI agent with an agenda. Here’s an interview I did with her about the part.
Bugs are continuing to take over Washington on “BrainDead” (CBS, 10 p.m.) and seemed to be crawling toward Laurel’s ear as last week’s episode ended.
