The second new show on The CW in the same number of days is “Frequency” (The CW, 9 p.m.) a remake of the emotional 2000 movie with Dennis Quaid in which a long-dead father can converse with a now-adult offspring through his old ham radio setup. Riley Smith of “Nashville” plays the dad here; but twist is that he’s communicating with a daughter, played by Payton List. She also happens to be a police detective. So together they solve crimes too. Wondering if the twist can survive a series, which may devolve into a procedural with a ghostly overlay.
If it’s as exciting as the American League Wild Card game, I’d recommend the National League Wild Card one-game playoff of San Francisco at Mets (ESPN, 8 p.m.).

Did you know there was a Little Miss Black US pageant? It’s chronicled in the premiere of “Little Miss Atlanta” (TLC, 10 p.m.), which sounds like an African-American version of “Toddlers & Tiaras” (TLC, 8 and 9 p.m.). I have an idea for a crossover: “Little Women: Atlanta” (Lifetime, 10 p.m.).
Oh boy another Bigfoot series: “Expedition Unknown: Hunt for the Yeti” (Travel, 9 p.m.).
