In “Abortion: Stories Women Tell” (HBO, 8 p.m.), Tracy Droz Tragos documents what’s happening in one state, Missouri, where they endeavor to remove its last clinic amid a load of religious dogma. Stories from desperate women who have to drive hundreds of miles to Illinois where the protesters, largely men, yell at them in the parking lots.
If there’s a more affecting documentary tonight, it’s probably “Newtown,” on “Independent Lens” (PBS, 9 p.m., check local listings) about the 2012 massacre of children in a Connecticut elementary school, the parents left behind who became sudden activists, and a Congress which has persisted in doing nothing as a result.
The NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament ends in the championship game with North Carolina vs. Gonzaga (CBS, 9 p.m.). Meanwhile, there is “Meow Madness” (Hallmark, 8 p.m.) on cable, with cats cavorting in the Final Fur. Beth Stern hosts; Mary Carillo and John Salley are roped into being commentators.
