It can be a pretty white Christmas on Hallmark movies, judging from the racial makeup of the casts. Bu tonight there’s “Christmas Everlasting” (Hallmark, p.m.) with Tatyana Ali, Dondré T. Whitfield, Patti LaBelle and Dennis Haysbert, about a successful lawyer who returns home after her special needs sister dies.
Toni Braxton stars in the latest variation of “A Christmas Carol” in the made-for-TV “Every Day is Christmas” (Lifetime, 8 p.m.). It’s followed by “Christmas Harmony” (Lifetime, 10 p.m.) in which Kelley Jakle plays a woman who returns to her home town after breaking up with her pop star boyfriend. Chandra Wilson, Sally Struthers and Adam Mayfield also star.
Other Christmas fare includes “The Santa Clause” (Freeform, 7:45 p.m.), “The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause” (Freeform, 9:50 p.m.), and some unusually early showings of “A Christmas Story” (TNT, 8 p.m.) and “It’s a Wonderful Life” (USA, 8 p.m.). Also early: “New Year’s Eve” (E!, 9 and 11:30 p.m.).
Prime time has two college football games: Notre Dame at Southern California (ABC, 8 p.m.) and Oklahoma State at TCU (Fox, 8 p.m.) in addition to the many others listed below. But there’s also a rerun of a competition: Thanksgiving Day’s National Dog Show (NBC, 8 p.m.) as well as such old holiday specials as two 2002 adventures by “Robbie the Reindeer” (CBS, 8 and 8:30 p.m.) and the 1996 “The Story of Santa Claus” (CBS, 9 p.m.).
“Tomb Raider” (HBO, 8 p.m.), released in March on the big screen, makes its premium cable debut, with Alicia Vikander taking up the role of Lara Croft.
Neglected dogs are rescued on “Pit Bulls and Parolees” (Animal Planet, 9 p.m.).
The life and death of Casey Kasem is recounted on “48 Hours” (CBS, 10 p.m.).
