Comedy pairs are popping up from all over in topical late night shows. Last week, it was the Bronx; this week it’s space, with the topical animated “Alien News Desk” (Syfy, 11 p.m.), a wholesale “Saturday Night Live” offshoot featuring anchors voiced by Will Forte and Heidi Gardner, and written by “Weekend Update” staff writer Dennis McNicholas. There is some disdain for the backwater called Earth.
If you failed to stay up to midnight to catch it after the Oscars on Sunday, here’s the time slot premiere of “Whiskey Cavalier” (ABC, 10 p.m.), what would seem a dumb spy caper romance action show, except for the charm of its leads Scott Foley and Lauren Cohan, and the seemingly actual European locations.
You know it’s a big hearing when the broadcast networks break into programming and joins cable news to provide gavel to gavel coverage. It happens today with The Testimony of Michael Cohen before the House Oversight Committee (ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, CSPAN, 10 a.m.) promises at least some details and some physical evidence not previously seen.
It’s likely to overshadow anything happening in the summit in Hanoi, which also will occur largely in hours that does not directly compete with the hearings.

“Biography: The Trump Dynasty” (A&E, 9 p.m.) ends its three night run with the inordinate rise of a reality star.
