A couple of beloved family comedies end their runs this week. The first is “Schitt’s Creek” (Pop TV, 8 p.m.), the Canadian import which didn’t even get popular until about its fourth season. Expect some tears as the Rose family (Eugene and Daniel Levy, Catherine O’Hara, and Annie Murphy) plan to abandon the motel and go their different ways after a wedding. IT also shows on Comedy Central and Logo. An hour special, “Best Wishes, Warmest Regards: A Schitt’s Creek Farewell” (Pop, 8:30 p.m.) following the series finale looks behind the scenes of the show.
Tracy Morgan’s “The Last O.G.” (TBS, 10:30 p.m.) returns for its third season, full of stars from Mike Tyson ant Tiffany Haddish to Katt Williams and J.B. Smoove.
Everybody seems to be learning a lot about science and new two-part documentary series looks into the historical search for the human genome, “The Gene: An Intimate History” (PBS, 8 p.m., check local listings), based on Dr. Siddhartha Mukerjee’s bestseller.
A new “Frontline” (PBS, 10 p.m.) looks at the mass imprisonment of the Uighurs in China.
Navigating roommates in a confined space is what “Terrace House” (Netflix, streaming) has been all about. With new episodes for its third season, “Tokyo 2019-2020” the drama comes quietly and ever-politely.
Actual news of the global pandemic caused the premiere to be delayed, so the animated and topical “Tooning Out the News” (CBS All Access, streaming) begins its run starting today. It blends actual footage with quickly animated anchors and gags in five-to-seven minute bits, based on the day’s news — rather like the cold opens of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” (CBS, 11:35 p.m.), stretched out. They are the same producers, after all (and they also do “Our Cartoon President”). The Friday episodes will be a half hour long.
Speaking of “Late Night,” the shoot-at-home creativity during the quarantine continues as the host both shows up on “Conan” (TBS, 11 p.m.) and hosts Conan O’Brien on his own show.
Even captains from “Deadliest Catch” have to keep their distance, when they meet to talk about their season virtually on “Before the Catch” (Discovery, 8 p.m.).
“The Resident” (Fox, 8 p.m.) has its season finale, with Cain’s former girlfriend admitted to the hospital for surgery.
Andre enters a treatment facility on “Empire” (Fox, 9 p.m.).
Johan shows interest in becoming a police officer on “Mixed-ish” (ABC, 9 p.m.).
On “Chopped” (Food, 9 p.m.), contestants compete against the show’s judge Alex Guarnaschelli.
Amy prepares to move off the farm on “Little People, Big World” (TLC, 8 p.m.).
Bev funds Mark’s coding camp on “The Conners” (ABC, 8 p.m.).
On “Bless This Mess” (ABC, 8:30 p.m.), chaperones are needed for the after-prom event.
Preschool choices must be made on “Black-ish” (ABC, 9:30 p.m.).
White supremacists get what’s coming in “For Life” (ABC, 10 p.m.).
“Supermarket Stakeout” (Food, 10 p.m.) looks especially foreign.
Turner Classic Movies celebrates the noir of films from 1948 with “Cry of the City” (8 p.m.), “The Lady from Shanghai” (10 p.m.), “He Walked by Night” (11:45 p.m.), “Key Largo” (1:15 a.m.), “Berlin Express” (3:15 a.m.) and “The Naked City” (5 a.m.).
During the day, it’s all 1950s horror with “The Killer Shrews” (6 a.m.), “The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms” (7:15 a.m.), “The Thing from Another World” (8:45 a.m.), “From the Earth to the Moon” (10:15 a.m.), “Attack of the 50 Foot Woman” (noon), “Them!” (1:15 p.m.), “Forbidden Planet” (3 p.m.), “Godzilla” (4:45 p.m.) and “Creature from the Black Lagoon” (6:30 p.m.).
